Welcoming a new baby into your family, an aging parent into your home, a new family at church or co-op into your community, or old friends around your table are all expressions of hospitality that, as Timothy Patitsas writes in The Ethics of Beauty, “unify faith and works, trust and offering, and are liturgical acts.” In fact, he calls hospitality the foundation of civilization and the serving tray a portable altar table!  So join us as we contemplate this idea that hospitality—love for our neighbor—is the physical expression of our faith.
