While all the common topics are helpful in our thinking and writing, arguably the most helpful is comparison. Throughout our everyday life, we compare one item to another. How can we use comparisons purposefully?

This webinar provides additional instruction and offers tips to help teachers employ the lessons in the Comparison Essay book. CiRCE Master teacher, Camille Hunt, will discuss how to use the Comparison chart, how to assess students’ work, questions that help us find overarching similarities, and every step students take to move from invention to a complete outline.

She will clarify how and when students might add a Narratio to the introduction of an essay and look at different kinds of Narratio that can be appropriate for comparison essays. She’ll look at how we can challenge students to increase the quality of their comparisons, and she’ll leave time for your questions.
