Economics has long suffered the epithet “The Dismal Science,” but this ought not be so!  Participation in the market is no less an agent of young adult independence than learning to drive a car; in fact, it’s learning to drive a life.  Join Joscelynn Tomaw, MBA and CiRCE Certified Master Teacher for a dive into the liberating nature of economic reasoning.  We will locate economics in relation to the seven liberal arts as well as the lives of young people.  Poetry, fables, fairy tales, and parables will facilitate our discussion on the use of Socratic, mimetic, and catechetical modes of economics instruction.  Finally, we will look to the ultimate goal of supporting students as they produce deeply meaningful and eminently useful artifacts as the result of their economic studies.
