This movie the Reader looks really interesting. Have any of you seen it? Slumdog Millionaire could be interesting but looks stereotyped.
Hey! It won for adapted screenplay, so I’m sure I misread that. Congratulations to Simon Beaufoy (I like that last name; it means “good faith.”)
Here come Jennifer and Jack. Witty, but not as ingenious as Steve Martin. Poor Jack. That didn’t work all that well. I can relate.
Have you seen Wall-E? I haven’t seen it yet, though I’ve been told it’s wonderful. I haven’t learned to appreciate whiny sounding electronics imitating R2 D2 combined with Barney. And the sarcastic humor kids are entertained with is not healthy. But let’s see who wins. I liked The Tale of Deveraux enough.
Best Animated Feature: Wall-E. Find the beauty in everything you see.
Unless it is conservative.
“Creative seeds are sown in the oddest of places.” Indeed.
Best Animated Short: Never heard of any of these. Kunio Kato wins. Nice job.
These two aren’t very funny together. But the set is pretty impressive, though maybe a bit self-conscious.
