Our modern world is full of man-made ugliness, and much of the beauty we encounter is designed to corrupt our hearts. We, rightly, doubt our desires and the beautiful. However, Beauty is the foundation of classical education and essential to our work of cultivating souls. In this talk, we will consider how we might recover beauty for ourselves and our students in order to refine our desires. Part talk and part classroom experience, this session will contemplate the role of Fine Art in our students’ refinement as well as model a few lessons in observing art.
