Presented at the CiRCE Fall Regional Conference 2023.
In The Abolition of Man, C. S. Lewis writes about the dangers of a disordered soul. In his Chronicles of Narnia series, he creates a cast of characters with both ordered souls and disordered souls: He gives us men with and without chests. But what does this even mean and how does he do this? In this talk, Kristen Rudd will present the idea of Plato’s tripartite soul and demonstrate how Lewis’ beloved Narnians embody this important concept.
