How do you choose a college? How do you know if it’s a good one? How do you know what to study while you are there? Students and parents of students are invited to attend the CiRCE Institute Virtual College Fair the week of February 17, 2025 for an online event each afternoon from 4pm to 5:30pm Eastern Time.

For each day’s call, Dr. Matthew Bianco will give a brief presentation helping to answer one of the toughest decisions a high school student will make: choosing a college. The overall presentation will be broken up into parts for each day’s call, so be sure to attend all of them!

Following Dr. Bianco’s presentation, a representative from a particular college will give a brief presentation on what that school offers. Each day’s call will feature a different college. So be sure to attend all of the calls to hear from more of the colleges!

Following the college’s presentation, the call will be open to a question and answer period, allowing prospective students and their parents to ask questions of both Dr. Bianco and the college representative. We hope this will make the decision making process a little bit easier for you, though these colleges are so great you may find it more difficult to choose!

Register for the FREE event now and get access to all of the live calls for the whole week, plus get access to the recordings for any of the calls you miss or want to revisit.

  1. MONDAY: The Purpose of College – look online and you will find a variety of reasons to go to college: to party, to gain independence, to find a spouse, to learn a trade, to learn knowledge. In this talk, we’ll think through the real purpose of college.
  2. TUESDAY: The Real Benefits of College – are they to get a degree, credentials, skills, a good paying job, a nice house? What are the real benefits that college offers us, more than just those practical things we hear about most?
  3. WEDNESDAY: The Good College Student – how can you make the most of your college experience? The good college students is more than someone who just attends classes and passes the tests.
  4. THURSDAY: The Good College Professor – lectures, office hours, fair tests, not too much homework, these are the things we expect from a good college professor, but there is something much deeper that goes into making a good college professor.
  5. FRIDAY: The Necessity of College – it might not be necessary, but it might be more necessary than we think. If the purpose and benefits of college are more than just skills and credentials, a good paying job, then what it really offers may help us think about its true value.
