Oakdale Academy (MI) Seeking Upper School Math/Science Teacher
Upper School Science/Math: The ideal candidate for this position will be able to teach a variety of upper level math and life science classes for students in grades 6 through 12. Candidates should have command of their subject matter and be able to communicate it effectively to students. Specific courses for 2012-13 include Biology, 6th grade science (Delta Science Modules), Trig/Pre-Calculus, and likely one additional science class and/or math class. Ability to teach beginning Latin a plus. This position requires working with other faculty members in the Upper School to prepare students for college. This position is full-time.
Requirements: B.A. or B.S. in Biology or Math. Working knowledge of the Hillsdale Academy model and familiarity with classical education is preferred. Candidates should have a love for children and classroom teaching, be well organized, highly motivated, and willing to take guidance from veteran co-workers. The ideal candidate will embrace the Mission of Oakdale Academy and our Statement of Faith.
Oakdale Academy is located in Waterford, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. We are a K-12 Christian school based on the Hillsdale Academy model. We are completing our inaugural year and will be adding 12th grade in the 2013-2014 school year. Our opening enrollment was 35 students, and we have doubled our enrollment for next year and expect continued growth.
