Agape Christ (MN) Hiring Staff for Inaugural School Year

The Board of Agape Christi Academy, a classical, Christian school in the southwest suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota, is hiring staff to help launch its inaugural academic year in 2012-2013.

Agape Christi Academy exists as an extension of Christian families in the biblical command to raise children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. The love of Christ compels us to teach God’s truth with intentionality, bridling the power of knowledge with humility and discipline in light of Christ’s total authority. To that end, our school provides a distinctively Christian education, employing challenging classical methodology and content. We work in concert with parents and the church to cultivate joyful young people whose lives reflect the truth in love. Our aim is that students live faithful Christian lives, equipped to lead and transform culture through the gospel to the glory of God. Please explore our website to learn more: www.agapechristi.com

Grammar School teachers are needed for grades K-6 (some classes will be combined grades), as well as a Headmaster/Head-Teacher. If you love the Lord and can subscribe wholeheartedly to our entire statement of faith; have a passion for classical, Christian education; and desire to equip students to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, we invite you to apply.

The ideal teaching candidates would have a bachelor’s degree and experience in teaching grammar school using classical methodology and content. Teachers without classical experience may also be considered if they love God, love learning, love teaching, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and embrace the classical approach (such as starting on the Recommended Resources listed on our website prior to an interview and attending summer teacher training).

The ideal Headmaster/Head-Teacher candidate would have a master’s degree with a liberal arts focus or an academic discipline that interfaces with classical learning; teaching experience; a strong, comprehensive vision of classical education; and a versatility to move seamlessly from administrative to academic to school-growing tasks. He or she would demonstrate resourcefulness, strong communication skills, and be a great team-builder and team-leader who manages conflict with redemptive expectations.
