The first thing you need to know about me to grasp the significance of this blog entry is that I believe Bill Gates is the Anti-Christ and that Microsoft is the Whore of Babylon.
Nevertheless, yesterday our IT guy installed Office 2007 professional on my computer and I have discovered Onenote. If you do research, think in anything like a non-linear way, write, or otherwise need to organize thoughts and information, you need this software. I have no idea how much it costs, but just today I have been able to sort out a number of projects and events in a way that Excel, Word, and other programs simply can’t do for me.
If you are highly analytical, you might be satisfied with standard software like Word and Excel. But if you are a global thinker with multiple questions going through your mind all at once, this is the tool for you. I would say that almost every head of school or teacher could make great use of it if they don’t already have something else.
It hurts to say it, but “Way to go, Microsoft.”
