Does a student’s love of good things hinge on the teacher’s exhortations? Or elaborate classroom techniques? In this session, we consider the humbler pedagogy of Sidney, Plato, and the Scriptures: i.e., the surprising idea that a love of the Good starts with a simple love of form—a claim with far-reaching and liberating ramifications for teachers.
