It is true that every human being desires to know, but it is also true that some people are interested in learning things that others aren’t interested in. Some people are motivated to learn new things and others are not. Some people love reading and love great books, some people would rather go the rest of their lives not having to read another book. Do people love books? Is it love that moves us? Or is it something that sparks the love? How can we motivate ourselves and our students to love the true, the good, and the beautiful? In this talk, Dr. Matthew Bianco will consider how we learn to love and the power of beauty to bring about love, and how understanding the power of beauty can help us to motivate the unmotivated.
