In most classrooms, students arrive with diverse math backgrounds and varied working knowledge of mathematical concepts. How does a teacher not only overcome this apparent obstacle but celebrate it so that all students experience satisfaction at the end of a lesson? In this talk, Amanda Butler will share examples of math lessons that draw from students’ memories, encourage students to wrestle for truth, and reward students with confidence and ownership of concepts.
