This two day a week year-long course will create a common literary experience and provide students the opportunity to learn and practice the rhetorical tools introduced in the Lost Tools of Writing Level III. In LTW III, we will continue the study of classical rhetoric by practicing the deliberative address, developing advanced writing skills, mastering additional forms of persuasive address, and even beginning to practice tools used in the arts of verse and storytelling. The skills taught will include additional schemes and tropes, paragraph coherence and cohesion, argument evaluation, formal and material logic, and special topics like honor, utility, and advantage.
