What happens when two children run to you and plead their cases? Both ask for a judgment against the other child, of course! Do we decide on the spot? Or first, do we have to know what happened before the issue arose, i.e., why we have a problem?  I’m sure you know we can’t make a decision before we find out what caused the conflict. But we don’t want to hear their whole history from the time they were born!

The same is true for an essay’s Narratio, the part of the introduction that provides the background of the issue. Before we ask an audience to make a decision—even before we tell them the options we might take—we must tell them how we arrived at the place where we need to decide.

This important piece of the intro is simple to craft using three fool-proof steps. These steps that create a Narratio are the same for every kind of writing and for every level of Lost Tools.

This webinar will demonstrate the creation process, consider the editing in II & III, and leave time for Q&A.
