In the world of education, our students learn things in an order, skills and ideas building upon one another. In the world of Christian classical education, our students learn things in an order that is drawing them toward the metaphysical concepts of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. In this talk, Dr. Matthew Bianco will consider the argument that even those ideas ought to be taught in a certain order. The human mind’s ability to perceive Truth begins with its perception of Beauty and its training in Goodness. Thus, in a perhaps unexpected and counterintuitive twist, we need to be taught Beauty first, then trained in Goodness, then we can perceive Truth, and then we can be Good.
