- 'The Lost Tools of Writing Level One Student Workbook
- Tales of Wonder, Volume 1
This semester course will introduce the young writer to the tools of Invention, Arrangement, and Elocution through the first four essays covered in The Lost Tools of Writing Level I. Each class will begin with time to read and discuss a classic fairy tale from Tales of Wonder, Volume 1, such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Beauty and the Beast, and Snow White. These short stories will give new composition students the opportunity to apply the thinking tools they learn to a variety of characters, settings, and conflicts. Students in this course will master the process of selecting an issue, considering both sides, and formulating a rudimentary persuasive essay.
