In this spring course, CiRCE-Certified Master Teachers Andrea Lipinski and Patty Bianco will offer an introduction to The Lost Tools of Writing. Designed to help you teach your students, this LTW class for adults will model the teaching process, while also helping you improve your own writing and thinking. This webinar style class will engage a group of participants as models for a classroom. These sessions will enable you to teach effectively and calmly on a day-to-day basis. Andrea and Patty will reveal how to solve the three problems all writers face, the questions that make for the kind of deep thinking that leads to skillful writing, and why writing does not need to be a stressful or intimidating process.
This shortened spring course will include the big picture of LTW, some difficulties students and teachers encounter, and sample lessons. Over the course of six weeks, we will meet weekly in the evening for two hours online. Andrea and Patty will provide a thorough introduction to the tools as well as the teaching of the tools. Essays one through six will be included during the six-week period, and you will gain the pattern for completing the remaining essays! While this course is called an intensive for the speedy introduction to these tools, Andrea and Patty will keep you connected to the big picture of LTW while shining light on individual lessons. Join us for this opportunity to be introduced to The Lost Tools of Writing from home in only six weeks of March through the beginning of May 2025.

You may receive feedback from more than one assessor on your assignment. The fee for assessment is not based on how many assignments you submit. If you choose the assessment option and do not submit assignments, the fee is not reduced or refundable. We expect that the weekly assignments for this course will require about 2-4 hours of work outside of live class sessions with reading and writing requirements.
