On the left, educational institutions are starting to notice that there is a need to help students find meaning. On the right, thinkers are starting to notice that there is a crisis of meaning. How is the Christian classical education renewal responding to this? In what ways can we help our students find meaning in this world? Do we “make” meaning, or do we “find” it? In this talk, Dr. Matthew Bianco will consider how the rituals we participate in, from the way a family celebrates a birthday, to the way a nation celebrates its independence, to the way the Church celebrates the resurrection, all of these are rituals that offer a sense of meaning, and the Christian classical education renewal needs to embrace rituals in order to avoid the crisis of meaning its students may be experiencing.
