Presented at the 2024 CiRCE National Conference: A Contemplation of Prudence.

Coleridge writes in his essay on education that “we should address ourselves to those faculties in a child’s mind, which are first awakened by nature, and consequently first admit of cultivation, that is to say, the memory and the imagination.” So, how do we cultivate the memory and the imagination? What exactly are these two faculties and how do they shape the souls of our children? In this session, we will seek to answer these questions and ponder how to implement them in our instruction.
