Using IEW’s Following Narnia Volume 1: The Lion’s Song, students will adventure through Narnia while learning skills of the Structure and Style writing method.

Students will spend the year working on key word outlines, summarizing references, reports, and much more! They will learn to add beauty and interest to their writing with “dress-ups” and vary their sentence structure with “sentence openers.”

This course is perfect for upper elementary students who are taking their first leap into writing. IEW’s Structure and Style engages the student while providing a solid foundation of techniques that can be integrated into many types of essays.

Writing assignments will draw from The Magician’s Nephew, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, and The Horse and His Boy, as well as history and science sources found in the student workbook.

Note: Following Narnia is a resource for grades 6-8; however, this course will scale the material for upper elementary.
