The Fables of Aesop is out now!

Deliverance, Through Prayer

Paul, in prison, wrote this to the Philippians:

I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer…

While I find these words encouraging, they are also rather challenging. I think my Christian readers all understand that prayer is “the Christian’s vital breath,” and that it is the true means by which God brings about deep, lasting, healing change to a world so yearning for change. Paul is quite explicit here. He says that he will be delivered “through your prayer.” That is why I have always known that the “secret” of my life is that people have always prayed for me. Early in life it was out of pity for my mother, but so be it.

Let me repeat my request from yesterday: please remember CiRCE and my family in your prayers. Without Christ we can do nothing. I’m asking you to pray that our Lord will provide wisdom and courage. The rest will follow.

Let me end with heartfelt thanks.

Now off to the apprentice retreat!
