The Lost Tools of Writing
Better Writing, Better Teaching, Better Thinking

Level 2

Share |

Now available, The Lost Tools of Writing™, Level Two, is meant primarily for students who have completed Level One of the program. Carefully building on the structure and lessons of Level One, Level Two includes a new emphasis on Narrative writing, dozens of new tools, and lessons on three new kinds of essay writing. A few of the brand new features are listed below.

FEATURES OF LEVEL TWO

        A brand new storytelling unit

        12 more schemes & tropes

Judicial & Deliberative essays

    Descriptive essay

        More on the comparison essay

Two brand new topics

As Level Two is intended for students who have already completed
Level One, it is primarily going to be a high school text. However, it
is certainly applicable to younger students who have made their way
completely through the entirety of Level One. The lessons and methods
in Level Two build upon those introduced in Level One, so any student
who jumps straight into this new level will be very confused.

After all, writing is an art, like music or painting. Thus it's skills build upon each other. You must have a firm foundation in the elementary skills before you can go on to the more advanced skills.

That said, if your student has learned to write through a program rooted primarily in the skill and art of imitation than they will probably be comfortable adapting to The Lost Tools of Writing™, Level Two.

We recommend a methodical and purposeful pace be adapted according to the needs and skills of your student(s).

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

"Hey, this stuff works, by the way. My kids' writing is improving quickly. Next semester this composition class will turn into "Speech." I am saving up some of the schemes and tropes for use therein."
- Kevin C., California

"I knew I would learn about writing. I didn't know I would learn so much about thinking, and virtue, and my heavenly Father. Thank you."
- Diana A., Texas

"Lately I've been engaging in what I can only describe as "informal LTW seminars" with the homeschoolers at my church. The reaction is always the same. Literal tears as they are encouraged to teach from a place of peace and rest, not anxiety."
- Angelina S., Louisiana

"I was an attendee at your LTW talk in Boca Raton. I reported to my husband that it was one of the top 5 seminars I have ever been to on any subject. Thank you for the experience of contemplation!
- Andrea H., Florida

" Here is... one great program. Check it out, then buy it, then rejoice at how great it is! I am a big fan if you can’t tell!"
- Steve E., North Carolina

Please allow 3-5 weeks for assembly and delivery.
